VALATIE -- - Tierra Coffee Roasters, located in this Columbia County town, obviously likes going to the movies. It has just purchased a second theater-adjacent cafe in Albany.
Tierra founded its first Albany spot, in 2010, at 1038 Madison Avenue, near the Madison Theater. Its new acquisition, the Ultraviolet Cafe, also is theater-centric, located adjacent to the Spectrum Theater -- whose owners created it and now sold it -- at 292 Delaware Avenue.
“Like our first shop, this new location ... is ideally located right next to the Spectrum 8 Theater, making it a great stop before or after a show,” says CEO Darren Grout. “We look forward to continuing to expand in the Albany area and strengthen our relationships in the community.”
Tierra Coffee Roasters features 100% Fair Trade organic coffee, including specialty and seasonal blends, roasted fresh five days a week in micro-lots here at its main facilitty. Lattes, teas, espresso, mochas and other drinks also are on the menu. Free public coffee tastings also will be offered.
Both locations -- the Ultraviolet will be renamed Tierra Coffee Roasters -- will serve breakfast sandwiches, paninis and salads, as well as homemade soups and baked goods made using farm-fresh products, organic and vegan ingredients.
Tierra Coffee Roasters is owned by the same principals as Tierra Farm, a producer of USDA-certified organic foods, including dry-roasted and raw nuts and seeds, unsulfured dried fruit, granola and trail mixes, and nut butters, as well as Fair Trade coffee and chocolate.
