Tie one on with a wrist scarf

Add a little punky pizzazz to your wardrobe with a new way to wear your favorite scarves.

A few years ago, during a marathon, I had tied a plastic bag around my arm because I didn’t have any pockets to hold it.  I thought – what a great idea, tie some cool fabric around your arm!

Well, I don’t know what happened since then, but I am just now coming around to that idea again.  And with summer still lurking not in mind but in body (read: it’s still hot out there!), it’s a great, discreet accessory to carry around when you need to wipe a “glistening” brow during the day or for a hot night of dancing.

All you have to do is grab your favorite scarf and fold it diagonally to form a triangle, one opposite corner to the another.  Then semi-roll / fold the scarf from the bottom of the triangle to the top angle.  Make sure the top angle does not peek out.  Place it on your wrist.  If you can wrap the scarf around your wrist once, simply tie a knot to secure, then tie another.  For longer ones, wrap the scarf around your wrist one or three times and secure.  To avoid bulk, keep to a thin scarf and one that is no longer than a foot in diameter.

Have fun with your scarf.  Mix up one or two with complementary prints and colors or textures.
