Tidy Gal’s New Year Resolution: Blaze New Organization Trails

Happy New Year Everyone! Tidy Gal wishes all of you a very happy, healthy and organized New Year! As we reflect on 2013, let’s consider some ideas to get ourselves organized for 2014. New Year is one of Tidy Gal’s favorite times of the year. Christmas is a wonderful time to spend with family and enjoying all of the joys that come along with season. New Year is a fresh start; we get to hit the reset button and strive to accomplish things anew.
In the organizational sense, those accomplishments for Tidy Gal and her beloved readers, clients, friends and family can include organizing the following:
• Closets: No better time than the New Year to tackle those closets. For those of you who live in snow-filled regions, take a snow day and tackle that closet. Who knows what you’ll find in those jam-packed closets? Those long-lost, favorite mittens and scarf or that coat you always loved but could never find. You could find a whole-host of goodies that are charitable items or yard-sale items. (http://www.pinterest.com/asimplifiednest/simplified-closets/)
• Bedrooms: Do you or your children have a bedroom with a floor that is completely covered with stuff? You wonder what holds up this stuff – like a floor, perhaps? A good organizational plan can turn that bedroom into a relaxing sanctuary and a place where you’ll want to retreat after a long, hard day. Your children could quickly find the things they need as you ready them for school. (http://www.hgtv.com/organizing/extra-organizing-tips-randy-ballesteros/i...)
• Kitchens: This is one room that even Tidy Gal has her challenges. If you could only see her kitchen cabinets right now. With that said, you know that Tidy Gal has a plan! Starting New Year’s Day, she will go through all of her kitchen cabinets pulling from those items that rarely are used (like seasonal items) for packing away in the storage unit. The remaining items will be neatly stored in a fashion where they can be easily accessed. (http://www.realsimple.com/home-organizing/organizing/kitchen/smart-ideas...)
• Garages: In many scenarios, the garage is used for every purpose except for parking the car. Well, the garage can be used to store many things including the car. All it takes a little organizational thought and some ingenuity. Start early, devise a plan and determine want to keep, donate and throw away. (http://www.pinterest.com/pin/39617671696013880/)
Whatever room you decide to tackle first, may your New Year be happy and filled with much prosperity!
