Tides Oyster Bar: For Super Bowl, Olympic Games, or Valentine's Day Festivities

Every successful social event involves great food, companionship, and a focal activity. Ethnic connoisseurs will find great ways to enjoy social activity while dining on some fabulous culinary delights. The month of February is full of social events, such as the Super Bowl, 2010 Winter Olympic Games in Vancouver, and Valentine’s Day. If the ethnic diner is searching for ethnic cuisine and a nice place to watch the Super Bowl or the Winter Olympic Games, Tides Oyster Bar may be a great option to do either.

The restaurant is located in the Green Valley Ranch Resort and Spa in Henderson, NV. Tides Oyster Bar is equipped with many flat screen televisions that may feature the Super Bowl on February 7, 2010 and the opening ceremonies of the 2010 Winter Olympic Games on February 12, 2010.

The ethnic cuisine is wonderful. Most of the cuisine is New Orleans style Creole or Cajun. Creole and Cajun cuisine have influences from the French, Spanish, Caribbean, Canarian, Mediterranean, Deep Southern American, Indian, and African influences. Though this style of cuisine migrated into the home of the Aristocratic French, it was once the cuisine that the French peasants enjoyed.

Peppers, citrus juices, rice, and beans are all characteristic of a typical Creole or Cajun dish. Tomato sauces were integrated into the dishes by Italian immigrants. Seafood, including oysters, shrimp, crab, crawfish, and trout are commonly present in Creole or Cajun dishes. Chicken, sausage, and turtle are also common.

At Tides Oyster Bar, the ethnic diner can enjoy the plethora of oysters on the bar, seafood gumbo, and Po’Boys, while watching the Super Bowl or the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympic Games.

Haitian Relief Fund

The Haitian culture has similar ethnic influences to the Creole culture of Louisiana. While dining, enjoying the festivities and the quality cuisine, take a moment to remember the Haitian tragedy. If you have not had a chance to donate, one of the charities below is still accepting donations. $61 million has been donated, yet more is needed.
