Tickets for the record breaking national tour of Dirty Dancing – The Classic Story On Stage went on sale today for the November shows at the Majestic Theatre. The stage musical of the hit 1987 movie will play for eight performances only from November 4 through November 9, 2014.

Dirty Dancing – The Classic Story On Stage is the coming of age story of a teenage girl and her relationship with a dance instructor she meets while on summer vacation with her family. It takes place during the summer of 1963 and seventeen year old Frances ‘Baby’ Houseman and her family are on vacation at New York’s Catskill Mountains. She isn’t interested in the resort’s activities but when she stumbles upon a party in the staff’s quarters she is mesmerized by the racy dance moves and pounding rhythms. Baby can’t wait to be part of the action especially when she sees Johnny Castle, the resort’s sexy dance instructor. Her life is forever changed when she becomes involved with Johnny both onstage and off.

This exciting live musical experience was first performed in Australia and has performed successfully worldwide including shows in Holland and South Africa. Dirty Dancing – The Classic Story On Stage has heart-pounding music, passionate romance and sensational dancing with choreography by Michele Lynch based on the original choreography by Kate Champion.
