Dallas Children's Theater Cabaret Benefit promises to be another entertaining and rewarding evening. Not only do you get to have the Dallas debut of Cabaret celebrity, Marissa Mulder, but help out the Dallas Children's Theatre. Last year, I enjoyed the amazing, roof-raising Carole J. Bufford, who followed the scintillating stage & TV star Emily Bergl in 2012! And before that I rejoiced in the legendary Marilyn Maye. DCT only features the Best!

They say it's lucky 22! On Saturday, October 4th, Dallas Children’s Theater returns to the legendary Venetian Room for its 22nd annual Cabaret Gala. Recently described as “… arguably Dallas’ coolest arts-related fundraiser!,” this stellar evening will once again gather a Standing-Room-Only audience of DCT supporters, Dallas arts patrons, and civic & social leaders at the elegant Fairmont Dallas to raise funds for Dallas Children’s Theater.

This year, the Cabaret Star in her Dallas debut will be “the electrifying and erudite” Marissa Mulder, winner of the 2014 “Artist of the Year” New York MAC award. She’s a bright, young, sultry songbird that is creating quite a stir at the moment with her performances at The Metropolitan Club, 54 Below, and legendary Café Carlyle. The New York Times described her performance as, “far and away the Season’s BEST cabaret show.” This “New Cabaret Princess” is on a meteoric rise and Dallas has her for one night only!

Along with the performance, the annual Gala Raffle prizes, once again, include a fabulous package trip for two to New York City with air transportation, deluxe accommodations at The Carlyle- a Rosewood Hotel and two tickets to a Broadway show!

The Guiding forces behind this year’s success have a lot in common. Call it a Family Affair! Returning as Gala Co-Chair is the ever-effervescent Marisa Huckin who will be joined by her beguiling Brother-in-law Matthew Huckin and completing this tantalizing triumvirate will be that most delightful Mother and Mother-in-law, Carol Huckin, herself, a civic volunteer extraordinaire! Lucky us, the beloved Lupton- Huckin families have been longtime DCT and Cabaret Gala supporters!

I know personally that this night is a highlight of my entertainment year and should not be missed.

Cabaret Gala 2014 will be held on Saturday, October 4 in The Venetian Room of The Dallas Fairmont. Tables start at $1,500 and Sponsorships at $3,000, for reservations or raffle tickets or information, please contact Artie Olaisen at artie.olaisen@dct.org or 214-978-0110 or go to www.dct.org/gala/.
