In a November 1, 2013 press release from the Kentucky Horse Park [KHP], a wonderful holiday show is scheduled for November 29 and November 30 in the Alltech Arena at KHP.
The producers of “The Spirit of the Horse – A Holiday Equine Extravaganza” are coordinating with the KHP to make the show a charitable ticket raiser to enable people from throughout the United States to purchase tickets that will be given to people in Lexington, Louisville and other local areas. This will permit folks who are not as fortunate to attend one of the two productions on November 29 or 30.
The Spirit of the Horse is an original equine entertainment production. It is performed by the professional KYB-GPE Equine Theater Production Company from Maple Park, III. This production company will use the help of charitable organizations to locate 1001 recipients of the tickets in surrounding areas of the state.
Yvonne Barteau, the script’s author, says of the show:
It is our strong belief that ‘The Spirit of the Horse’ represents a spirit of joy. We would like to see that joy spread among families and children who might not otherwise have the means to see the show. We hope that people across the country will help change that and make a difference for 1001 or more people this holiday season.
Spirit of the Horse is magical. It is a heartfelt fairytale of remarkable examples of kindness and gratitude and generosity. The story line is conducive to the goodness and warmth of the season.
Already the production company has given its own $500 toward the 1001 ticket raiser.
Tickets may be purchased for just the show. Tickets may also be purchased to include the meet and greet with the stars of The Spirit of the Horse at the holiday Barn Tour prior to the show each evening. And tickets are even available for the Post Production Party so that show goers can enjoy food and drink and mingle with the horse and rider performers.
The show starts each evening on Friday and Saturday, November 29 and 30, at 7:00 p.m. The Barn Tour occurs from 3:30 to 6:30 each day. The Post Production Party happens each of the two evenings immediately after the performances at the Alltech Arena.
- Tickets to the show range from VIP seating [$25] to general admission [$15 adults and $10 children 3-12].
- Barn Tour tickets are only $5 for adults and complimentary for one accompanying child when purchased with a show ticket.
- Tickets to the Post Production Party to “meet and greet” the cast are $25 per person, adult or child.
This becomes an effective way to spread our love for horses and do something truly special. It is a unique gift of generosity and kindness around the holidays.
