Thursday’s windy and wetter weather will replace Tampa Bay’s recent warmth (Photos)

Wednesday’s weather provided Tampa Bay residents and vacationers one more day of partly cloudy and warm conditions. A few isolated light showers developed across the area. However, locations receiving any rainfall reported precipitation amounts under one-tenth of an inch.

Morning lows across the area included 62 degrees in Clearwater, 64 degrees at MacDill Air Force Base, 66 degrees in Tampa, and 67 degrees in St. Petersburg. Highs on Wednesday afternoon topped out at 80 degrees in Tampa, 81 degrees in St. Petersburg, 82 degrees in Clearwater, and 83 degrees at MacDill Air Force Base.

The prolonged stretch of partly cloudy and warm days across west-central Florida will come to an end on Thursday. An approaching cold front will sweep through the area during the day, and will bring scattered showers, gusty winds, and cooler temperatures.

A slight chance of light rain will linger through the weekend, with seasonably mild temperatures returning to Tampa Bay for Saturday and Sunday.

Tampa Bay weather for Thursday

Thursday’s weather forecast in Tampa Bay calls for cloudy skies, with rainfall coverage averaging around 50 percent. Winds will increase through the day, with sustained winds of 20 miles per hour (mph) and gust up to 30 mph likely by the afternoon.

After morning lows ranging from 58 to 68 degrees, afternoon highs will only reach between 68 and 75 behind the frontal boundary.

Friday’s forecast for Tampa Bay

The weather forecast for Friday in Tampa Bay calls for partly sunny skies, with a slight chance of isolated rain showers through the day. Precipitation coverage will range between 10 percent and 20 percent. After morning lows ranging from 42 to 52 degrees, afternoon highs on Friday will rise to between 65 to 72 degrees.

Slightly warmer weather by the weekend

The weather for the weekend around Tampa Bay will be slightly warmer. Skies will be partly cloudy to partly sunny for both Saturday and Sunday, with precipitation coverage varying from 10 percent to 20 percent. After morning lows each day of 50 to 60 degrees, highs both afternoons will climb to between 70 and 77 degrees.
