Gungor comes to Des Moines on Thursday for a 7 p.m. concert at Wooly's. The Denver-based Christian-tinged alt-rock collective has won a GMA Dove Award and an Independent Music Award and has also collected two Grammy nominations. Led by husband and wife duo Michael and Lisa Gungor, the group has embarked on the spring leg of their "I Am Mountain" tour (named after their September 2013 album release) that included three performances at the South by Southwest Music Festival. Opening for Gungor Thursday will be Robert Gungor's Wilderman. Robert is Michael's younger brother, and Michael also plays in the band. Tickets to the all ages show are $18 and VIP packages are also available.

Thursday's other top show features Illinois roots rockers The Giving Tree Band performing at DG's Tap House in Ames. The eco-friendly band of vegans has played some of the nation's top festivals, including Wakarusa, SXSW, the Philadelphia Folk Festival, and others. The band's fifth album, Vacilador, came out in 2012. The show will kick off at 9 p.m., and it will be a 21-and-over event. Tickets for the concert are $10 at the door.
