Des Moines Performing Arts/Parlours

Des Moines indie pop band Parlours will play the Lunch Unplugged concert series at the Temple for Performing Arts in Des Moines at noon today. The quintet's full-length debut album All Is Here is available now on iTunes, Amazon, and other digital retailers. The concert runs from noon to 1 p.m., and it is only $5. Bring your lunch or purchase something on site.

Black Joe Lewis will headline Vaudeville Mews in Des Moines tonight. The Austin, Texas blues/soul act released their latest album Electric Slave in August of last year. Check them out in action in the nearby video. The doors at Vaudeville Mews will open at 7 p.m., and the music will kick off at 8 p.m. with opener Pickwick. Tickets for the show are $15, and they may be purchased online through Tikly or at the door. This is a 21-and-over show.

In Ames tonight, Noah Gunderson will play the Maintenance Shop at 8 p.m. The singer/songwriter (and former lead singer of Beneath Oceans and Noah Gunderson & The Courage) released his latest solo full-length album Ledges earlier this month, and he also played guitar and did production work on Ben Fisher's album Charleston, which also debuted in February. Neo-folk artist Armon Jay will open the show. Tickets are $12 for ISU students and $14 for the general public. Tickets may be purchased online through MidwesTix or at the door.
