For Thursday, January 31, 2013, here are the network shows that feature some women worth watching on television.
What Thursday night shows work
Tonight is the series finale for NBC’s hit “30 Rock.” Catch your last glimpse of Liz Lemon now or never. Do not worry, you can stream it on Netflix if you miss it that much.
The LA Media Examiner has a complicated relationship with the CBS hit “The Big Bang Theory” but it is still a top choice for women worth watching. Tonight's episode seems far more about Sheldon having issues with his co-worker, while Howard and Raj make action figures of themselves. Perhaps this Media Examiner just needs to think of these men as women and embrace it.
ABC’s “Scandal” is definitely soapy sometimes but it just keeps getting better. Watch Olivia work more of her magic while she talks faster than Kate Hepburn in any 1940s film. In tonight’s episode she could be in very big trouble…
Thursday night picks with details
“The Big Bang Theory” (CBS, 8 p.m.) “The Cooper/Kripke Inversion”—Sheldon (Jim Parsons) is outraged and his confidence takes a hit when he’s forced to work with his nemesis, Barry Kripke (John Ross Bowie). Howard (Simon Helberg) and Raj (Kunal Nayyar) shell out big bucks for action figures of themselves.
“30 Rock” (NBC, 8, p.m.) “Hogcock!" then "Last Lunch”—In the one-hour series finale, Liz (Tina Fey) settles into her new role and Jack (Alec Baldwin) reflects on the developments in his life.
“Scandal” (ABC, 10:02 p.m.) “Truth or Consequences”— Olivia (Kerry Washington) takes on the “Gladiators in Suits” who find out about the rigged election. Who will come out on top and who will be destroyed? You never know with this show.
