Due to the hail, sleet, rain, snow, wind, lightning, and other afflictions of Mother Nature plaguing Central Iowa right now, some of tonight's concerts have been affected. Here is a look at what is and isn't happening tonight as of 4:00 p.m.
The Maintenance Shop in Ames has cancelled tonight's Passafire/Ballyhoo!/Pacific Dub concert scheduled for 8 p.m. tonight. Those with tickets to see the reggae rockers' Winter Brewhaha Tour tonight can get refunds at their point of purchase. No reschedule date has been announced.
Confluence Brewing Company has canceled their music act and food event for tonight. Josh Sinclair will not be performing and Mo'Rub will not be serving supper, but the Tap Room will remain open.
Vaudeville Mews could not be reached for comment about their concert scheduled for 4:30 p.m. today, but headliner This or the Apocalypse posted just minutes ago that they were already in town eating supper and then they were heading over to the show. VMews has not posted anything regarding the show on social media or its website, so it appears that the show will go on as planned. Sworn In, Shai Hulud, Sirens & Sailors, They Will Repent, and Intentions are slated to open the show. Tickets are $15 at the door, and it is an all ages event.
Des Moines Performing Arts has stated that The Blue Man Group will perform tonight at the Des Moines Civic Center as scheduled, but warns patrons to drive safely to the event and to watch for road closings. Ticketholders can call the Civic Center Ticket Office at (515) 246-2300 with any questions.
No other announcements have been made at this time. To second what the DMPA said, if you do venture out into the thundersnow/hail/rain/sleet/sludge tonight, be careful Central Iowa!
