1934 - The temperature soared to a high of 104° in Detroit! Many were treated for heat exhaustion and three people died from the hot temperatures. This is the warmest June temperature ever recorded. Houghton Lake observes a record high temperature of 96°.

1959 - Hot weather prevailed with a high temperature of 92° at Grand Rapids and Lansing. At Grand Rapids the low temperature was 78°, second only to the 79° low on June 20, 1953 for the warmest low temperature on record for the month of June.

1961 - A severe thunderstorm dropped 1.5 inch hail (ping pong ball sized) 2.1 miles east of Stambaugh in the mid afternoon. A gust to 60 mph occurred 2.8 miles north of Marquette in the mid afternoon.

2003 – Thunderstorms along a front produce numerous reports of severe weather across southern Lower Michigan. Most of the reports are from strong wind. In Cedar Springs a 200 pound jungle gym rolled over and moved 50 feet. The attached slideshow has a few severe weather maps for the day.

2010 - Severe drought conditions continued into June in Eastern Upper Michigan. The first five months of the year were very dry. Thankfully, June would turn out to be a wet month, with Sault Ste. Marie picking up well over five inches of rain. Drought conditions eased, and by the end of the month, Eastern Upper Michigan with Chippewa and Mackinac Counties was no longer considered to be in a severe drought.
