Heavy rain and a few thunderstorms are possible as a cold front approaches. A few of the storms could be strong to severe but the Storm Prediction Center keeps the slight risk for severe weather on the east side of the state for Friday.
Cooler and drier air moves into the state over the weekend. A few showers are possible on Saturday but most of the weekend should stay dry. In fact the dry and comfortable weather should hang around for most of next week.
The slideshow on the top has a few forecast maps for the storms and cooler air.
