The Oklahoma City Thunder open their 2013-14 NBA season against the Utah Jazz on the road and will try to get a quick start to the season. According to NewsOK.com on Oct. 30, star point guard Russell Westbrook is expected to miss the first month of the season as he recovers from an ACL tear. Here is how fans can follow the Thunder vs. Jazz live stream of the opening game of the season.
- Date: Oct. 30
- Time: 9 p.m. EST
- TV: Fox Sports Oklahoma
- Live Stream: NBA League Pass and NBA TNT Overtime
Replacing Westbrook in the lineup will be a mix of young talent in Reggie Jackson and Jeremy Lamb and a veteran presence in Derek Fisher. None of those players will replace Westbrook’s production, but Jackson seems to be the closest to a star in this lineup.
Lucky for the Thunder, they also have Kevin Durant, arguably one of the best players in the NBA, as well as shot blocking expert Serge Ibaka, tough guy center Kendrick Perkins and their best perimeter defender in Thabo Sefolosha all returning as well. They may be without one of their most explosive players, but they are still better than most the teams in the Western Conference.
On the other side of the court is the Utah Jazz, a team trying to rebuild right now. After barely missing the playoffs in 2012-13, the Jazz tore down their team and started rebuilding. The names on this roster are void of obvious stars, but management hopes that Derrick Favors and Gordon Hayward will be able to step up with younger players surrounding them.
The Thunder vs. Jazz live stream tips off at 9 p.m. EST.
