Thriller 'Dead Man Down' sees return of 'Girl with the Dragon Tattoo' talent

The official trailer has been launched for the film Dead Man Down, set to release on Friday, March 8, 2013 in the United States. This film can be summed up best via one word, care of The Fairly Oddparents: "Action-y!"

Dead Man Down is an action thriller which stars Colin Farrell (Fright Night) as Victor and The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo's Noomi Rapace as two strangers connected by their mutual need for revenge. As we all know, revenge is a dish best served cold, so when it is delivered hot, dominoes will fall. Rapace plays Beatrice, a woman who uses blackmail against Victor to get him to kill his boss, Alphonse (Terrence Howard). Victor doesn't need much convincing, though, as Alphonse is responsible for the deaths of Victor's wife and daughter, an act on which Victor is already seeking to exact his own brand of vengeance.

Violence begets more violence in this film directed by Niels Arden Oplev (the director of the original Swedish version of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo), who makes his stateside directorial debut with this film which reunites him and Rapace. Dead Man Down also co-stars Dominic Cooper (Captain America: The First Avenger) and is based on the screenplay by J.H.Wyman (writer for television's Fringe). If you like action films with a good dramatic story, this one is for you.
