On Saturday night’s premiere of “Thrift Hunters,” Bryan Goodman and Jason T. Smith take viewers on a journey to see just how cheaply they can buy stuff and then resell it at a profit in and around Las Vegas.

As the episode opens, they pass by a garage sale, they see an entire neighborhood set up with tables that they consider a garage sale on steroids. Jason immediately found tee shirts with Hard-Rock Café, John Lennon and Eric Clapton for $2 each. Vintage post cards, a negotiating book they negotiated and got for $1.50, more and more items were treasures from yesteryear. They loved advertising items that they knew they would sell for much more.

They then went to an antique mall and searched for more treasures. Jason found a Harley-Davidson lamp, but with the wonder of technology, they saw the same one much cheaper online, so they walked away. No luck at this place today.

At a place called Goat Feathers Emporium, they found a 1984 Van Halen button for $5 and a vintage 1980s Mickey Mouse jacket for only $12.50. Jason spent $47.18 that he hoped to turn into $175. Bryan spent $19.73 and expects to make $100.

At Castaways Resale Store, they found a lot wrong with the place, but it was worth it to find the items that they found. Jason spent $43.75 that he hopes to turn into $300. Bryan spent $31.55 and wants to make it $200. As they checked out, they told Laurie what she should do to make the shop better, and she told them that she had a warehouse full of stuff. They promised to give her tips and although the place was not open to the public, she let them peruse the warehouse. Jason found the coolest jacket ever; it was from the 1986 movie Rad, and he had to have it. The movie was a critical flop when it was released, but became a cult hit. Laurie sold the guys a few clothing items for $10 each in exchange for their expertise.

After the day of thrifting, the guys started to research their finds and list them for sale. The $10 Rad jacket sold for $700. For the day, Jason spent $156.93 and his projected profit is $1,864.07. Bryan spent $106.39, and his projected profit is $825.34 on this episode of “Thrift Hunters.”
