No tracklisting has been released yet for Major/Minor, but the Thrice camp will keep a tight lid on the album until release date. Their previous release Beggars was set to be released on October 13th but due to the album leaking in July the release date was pushed up to August 9th.

During my interview with Thrice drummer Riley Breckenridge he told me about what had to happen once Beggars leaked:

"We had just delivered the master copy; the mixed and mastered copy to Vagrant and maybe two days later it leaked. On a traditional label timeline, they want you to deliver the masters, then, they want three months where they can set the record up. They set up a marketing plan, do in studio videos, set up press, specials with retailers, and pre-sale stuff.

There is so much that goes into that, so, when it leaks right at the beginning of the three month window, it ruins everything. We had to totally re-evaluate where we were coming from. We had to make it available digitally as soon as we possible could through iTunes and that ended up being three weeks after it leaked. The artwork for the record was still pending. We were working through some copyright issues with the photo so we had to change that."

The recording of Major/Minor began May 2nd in Santa Monica, CA with Dave Schiffman at Red Bull Studios who mixed their 2009 album Beggars and engineered their 2005 album Vheissu. As a band that continues to push boundaries, Major/Minor will be no exception. "It's definitely the most natural progression from record to record that we've had in a while. We did The Alchemy Index, which was totally different [from Vheissu]. Then Beggars was kind of the reaction against that. This kind of makes sense coming out of Beggars, but it's definitely a different record," says lead singer Dustin Kensrue.
