Kate Winslet, who rose to fame in James Cameron’s epic film “Titanic,” opened up about marriage, divorce and what she has learned about herself, Us magazine reported on March 6. Winslet went on to star in such movies as "Hideous Kinky," "Quills," "The Life of David Gale,"and "Revolutionary Road," which reunited Winslet with "Titanic" co-star Leonardo DiCaprio.
Winslet, 37, revealed that she has learned a great deal about herself in the last four years. Kate said, “I think I can see more clearly now – about how the pattern of past experiences has shaped who I am, and the characters I have portrayed – and I’m grateful for that.”
Best Actress Academy Award winner for "The Reader", Kate Winslet has been married three times. Winslet has a daughter with first husband, director Jim Threapleton. Winslet and Threapleton were married from 1998 until 2001. In 2003 Kate Winslet married director Sam Mendes. The couple, who have one son, separated in 2010 and were divorced some time in 2011.
Kate Winslet’s third husband is Ned Rocknroll, born Ned Abel Smith. Rocknroll was previously married to Eliza Pearson, daughter of Viscount Cowdray. Fans were shocked when Winslet revealed in December 2012 that she had married Ned Rocknroll, nephew of Sir Richard Branson, founder of the Virgin Group.
Winslet met Rocknroll while vacationing with then-boyfriend Louis Dowler in August 2011 on Richard Branson’s private Necker Island retreat. Subsequently, Winslet and Dowler broke up during the course of that vacation.
