Today marks the three-year anniversary of WABE City Cafe' hosted by John Lemley. The show airs on Atlanta radio dials from noon-1PM Monday-Friday on 90.1FM. The program plays classical music and feature stories around Atlanta on arts, entertainment and events.
Last month on the Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday, host John Lemley spent time with history professor Timothy Crimmins from Georgia State University discussing the Auburn Avenue area where Dr. King grew up and other highlights around the city. The show gives listeners a chance to learn about Atlanta's history and culture.
Host John Lemley talks with entertainment reporter Shane Harrison from the Atlanta Journal-Constitution about happenings around Atlanta which gives listeners the chance to start planning their weekend.
For anyone new to Atlanta or visiting, this is a great show on the radio dial for information about our fine city from the arts, symphony performances, and interviews with historians or city officials on what's happening in and around Atlanta.
While City Cafe' is only on-air for an hour unlike other shows that run for a longer block, the hour is lunchtime enjoyment of classical music at it's best. Put WABE 90.1 on the preset dial in your car when out and about running errands. Plus, tune in on your office computer for the program streaming online. It's a delightful hour that will become a fast favorite!
