Three wins in a row for SLP Orioles

A pair of four goal games from Lauren Brunn-Bryant and Mary Pavia led the St. Louis Park Orioles to a 10-7 win over the Maple Grove Crimson Monday night.

The Crimson, playing their first game of the 2014 season, jumped out to an early lead on Paige Naasko's goal from the center slot. Lauren Brunn-Bryant would tie the game for the Orioles on a free shot. Helena Nguyen would regain the lead for Maple Grove :35 later. She would also pick up an assist on Claire McLean's goal to put the Crimson up by two. Lauren Brunn-Bryant would score her second goal to cut the lead to one but Haley Herdine got a pass from Breanna Blesi to bring the lead back to two. That was all the scoring for the Crimson in the first half since St. Louis Park would close out the first half with four unanswered goals. Lauren Brunn-Bryant would pick up the hat trick, Anna Roethler would tally twice and Pavia would score with 1:28 left to give the Orioles a 6-4 halftime lead.

Maple Grove would begin the second half scoring on Nguyen's second goal. Then Pavia would clinch the game with two consecutive goals, including one from the left ide of the net. Nguyen and McLean would also reach the net for the Crimson and Brunn-Bryant and Pavia picked up their fourth goals to wrp up the scoring.

Both team's goalies also had outstanding saves to keep the game close. Coco Francis, the Crimson's freshman net minder and Mac Brunn-Bryant of the Orioles. Mac Brunn-Bryant saved 17 of 24 Maple Grove shots.

it was the third straight win for St. Louis Park as they improved their record to 4-0 and will travel; to Fridley on Tuesday, April 22 to face the Totino-Grace Eagles at 7 PM. Maple grove, with three seniors on their roster will open their home season Wednesday, April 23 against the Anoka Tornadoes at 7:30 PM.
