If the start of the New Year appears a bit boring and you're looking for a getaway, these Florida fun and funky attractions might be just what you're looking for.

Pelican Hotel on Ocean Drive

The Pelican Hotel on Ocean Drive is without question the most unique hotel in Miami Beach. The hotel was created by Diesel Jeans and designed by Magnus Ehrland. The hotel features 29 guest rooms with a surprise behind every door. Each room has its own colorful theme such as Big Bamboo, Viva Las Vegas, Executive Zebra among many others. Guests have access to free WIFI, an iPod sound station, plasma TV and refrigerator with bottled water that's refilled daily. The Pelican Cafe serves a daily breakfast and is a popular hangout for locals and tourists alike.

ICEBAR Orlando

Experience the deep freeze at one of the country's most unique bars. Welcome to ICEBAR Orlando, the world's largest bar made out of ice. No other place in Florida gives you the opportunity to step into a bar made entirely out of ice. The bar features interior walls, bar, tables, bar stools and cocktail glasses beautifully carved out of 50 tons of ice. Before entering ICEBAR Orlando, guests get to slip into a thermal cape and gloves to keep warm while sipping on a ice cold drink. Afterwards, guests can relax and warm up in the FIRE Lounge, featuring live entertainment, dancing, a full service bar, a VIP area serving signature cocktails.

Coral Castle

Florida is known for its mysterious and haunted destinations, but nothing is quite as mysterious as that of the Coral Castle in Homestead, Florida. This unusual stone structure was created by Edward Leedskalnin. The structure is built out of limestone that was formed from coral rock. According to legends, Edward Leedskalnin was able to lift these enormous stones totaling over 1,100tons by using reverse magnetism or his supernatural abilities. To this day, scientists are still baffled of how one man could have possibly built this unusual structure. The secret was buried with Edward Leedskalnin when he died.
