Continuing this mini-series, this writer has found three more tweaks that Apple should incorporate into itself in order to make the iPhone more user friendly and make those who don’t want to jailbreak their iPhones happier.
1. AnyLockApp
This is a pretty simple tweak: give us the option of choosing any app to open from the lock screen instead of just the camera. This particular tweak even allows the user the choice of using the camera icon while still opening to another app, in order to trick anyone who finds the phone into thinking that everything is normal. This tweak even allows the user to get rid of the quick open app on the lock screen, just in case one prefers to have just a lock screen and nothing else.
2. NoSpot
Again, another simple tweak: giving us the option of closing Spotlight. It uses RAM and is just another thing to drain the battery by having to be constantly open. This writer finds Spotlight to be almost useless as it is just about as fast to manually find whatever one needs by the time they opened Spotlight and typed it in; not to mention it sometimes doesn’t find what one is looking for.
This is interesting because it is one of the few apps that another jailbroken app cannot move, the Newsstand. This tweak gets rid of this pesky icon that the average user most likely won’t use at all.
As one can see, all of these tweaks seem like things that Apple should have thought of from the beginning, but for whatever reason decided that we were required to not have any choice in the matter. Maybe they will re-consider in the rumored iPhone 6?
