The gospel community in the DC, Maryland and Virginia (DMV) is lifting up prayers for one of their very own. John “Bucky” Tillery, a three-time Stellar Award nominee underwent a double kidney transplant on Feb. 28. Prayers from the rest of the gospel industry is requested as well for John Tillery's complete healing and restoration. The singer-songwriter has made an imprint in the world of gospel music.
John Tillery and his group Living Sacrifice have worked with a bevy of gospel veterans, including the late Albertina Walker, Richard Smallwood, the late Ron Winans, Keith Pringle, Twinkie Clark, Martha Walsh, Rev. Milton Bigham, Kayla Parker, Kimberly McFarland and many more.
Tillery released his first CD, "God Is Still On The Throne" in 1994. His fourth CD, "The John Tillery Project" Next Level included the radio single, “Look at Me.” John Tillery & Living Sacrifice's new release, "Miracles" is slated to release early Summer. The singer-songwriter serves as Senior Minister of Praise & Worship and Music Administration at Hunter Memorial A.M.E. church.
According to the National Institutes of Health, Kidney transplantation is a procedure that places a healthy kidney from another person into your body. The new kidney takes over the work of the failed kidney that were affected by End Stage Renal Disease (ESRD). On average, 1,752 per one million Americans are afflicted with ESRD annually.
