Some people just can’t stay out of trouble. Singer Chris Brown appears to be one of them. This past Sunday, gun shots rang through the air at his pre-VMAs party in Los Angeles. A guest, music producer Marion (Suge) Knight, got shot six times. Two other attendees were injured too. Ever since, rumors behind the shooting incident have run rampant on the Internet. Below are the top three.

Rumor number one: Someone sought revenge on Suge Knight.

This man's scandalous ways precedes him. As co-founder and CEO of Death Row Records, Knight supposedly controlled artists and competitors by force dangling them over ledges and pointing guns in their faces. He’s also blamed for the death of two acclaimed rappers. So, of course, he’d be a moving target for anyone seeking vengeance. Right?

Rumor number two: Gang bangers were trying to kill Chris Brown.

Prior to his recent jail time, Chris Brown purportedly hung tight with gang bangers. However, after his release, he decided to cut ties with them. Upset about being ignored, they decided to kill him. Unfortunately, being a poor shot, the assailant hit two innocent bystanders instead at Chris Brown’s pre-VMAs party. Famed comic Katt Williams inadvertently supported this theory by telling the press Suge Knight ‘was not the intended target of the shooting‘.

Rumor number three: The LAPD covertly spurred on the shooting.

Lawyer Perry Sanders had a thing or two to say about shooting incident at Chris Brown’s pre-VMAs party. Mainly, he blamed the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) for the event. For those of you who don’t know, he is the family attorney for the Biggie Smalls clan. For years, he’s alleged the LAPD protected the killer of this rapper who just happened to be (according to Saunders) Suge Knight. Now, this infamous police department has beef with the very guy they kept free for years.

So, north westerners, what do you think? Which of these rumors sound true or like a straight up lie?
