Three more shows you should see

The Minnesota Jewish Theater Company is presenting the regional premiere of 2.5 Minute Ride by Lisa Kron. 2.5 Minute Ride is the story of a touching father-daughter relationship that covers a huge amount of ground, from Germany’s kinder transport to a roller coaster in Sandusky, Ohio. Along the way you are introduced to most of this eccentric family, all portrayed by a single actress.

That actress is the amazing Sally Wingert, who is without question one of the best actresses in the Twin Cities. Lets just put it this way - this is Wingert’s third solo show for MJTC, and the last one (Woman Before a Glass) won Wingert an Ivey Award. This is a no-brainer, folks. Go see it.

2.5 Minute Ride is presented by the Minnesota Jewish Theatre Company, and runs April 19 - May 10. Call 651-647-4315 for ticket information.

Upright Egg Theatre Company opened their newest production reCollect last evening (I’m late - sorry, Eggies!) at the Tilsner Artists Cooperative in downtown Saint Paul. The show is a company created piece about memory, and how memories affect our past and our futures. I guarantee you it's more interesting than I just made it sound.  The show runs in performances this weekend, and then will be done in exceprts next weekend throughout the Saint Paul Art Crawl, with a final performance Sunday the 26th. The show features Kelsey Cramer, Tim Daly, Lana Hubbard, Ariel Pinkerton, Rachael Schlee and Larissa Shea.

Admission for all Egg shows are by donation only - Upright Egg is one of, if not the only group in the Cities to offer a “pay-what-you-can” night for every performance. And there’s tea and cookies - how can you lose?

reCollect plays April 16-26 (see Upright Egg’s website for specific show times) - call 651 292-0179 for tickets.
