Three men and two women were shot during a drive-by early Saturday morning at a nightclub in Columbia – and police said at least two of the victims are in critical condition.
Hours later police were still trying to determine who shot them. But investigators believe the shooting may have stemmed from a fight that occurred earlier at the club.
The shooting happened shortly before 3 a.m. at the T and T Uptown Lounge at 3003 Colonial Drive, according to Columbia police.
Witnesses told police that they saw shots being fired from a car outside of the club, police spokeswoman Ms. Jennifer Timmons said.
“There may have also been an altercation at the club before the shooting occurred,” Ms. Timmons said.
She did not provide any details on what led to the altercation or on the victim's injuries.
“At last check, two victims were in critical condition,” Ms. Timmons said. “The remaining victims were in stable condition.”
Officers are continuing to investigate and have asked that anyone with information about the incident to call CrimeStoppers at (888)274-6373.
