Yesterday San Francisco Police announced the arrest of three suspects in connection with a strong-arm robbery that took place on December 28, 2012.
Taken into custody, were Denzel Anderson, 21, and Cornelius Taylor, 24, both of San Francisco, plus Lazarus Thomas, 21, of Daly City.
The incident occurred on Muni’s 14-Line at 4th and Mission streets.
The three suspects boarded the bus along with the five juvenile victims. Both the victims and the suspects were seated at the rear of the bus, when the suspects demanded their property. The victims emptied their pockets and were subsequently patted down for additional property before the suspects fled.
The SFPD / Municipal Transportation Agency (MTA) Muni Task Force (MTF) investigated the incident. Officers from the MTF located surveillance video that showed the suspects fleeing the area and splitting up the stolen property, which consisted of cell phones and U.S. Currency.
A crime alert of the incident was issued throughout the police department.
The suspects were recognized by officers from the Northern Police Station and also by officers from the Violence Reduction Team. All three suspects were arrested within days of the incident.
