It is getting that time of year when kids are getting ready to go back to school. Plan ahead to make healthy after school snacks that the kids will enjoy. These snacks are not only easy to make, but they are perfect choices for the family whose always on the go.
Cheesecake Cracker Snacks
Slice a few strawberries in half. Mix equal parts of fat free jam with low fat cream cheese together. Spread this mixture on a few graham crackers. Place a strawberry in the center. Store these snacks in a covered dish in the refrigerator. These cheesecake snacks are scrumptious.
Cut up veggies your kids love. Cut cubes of fat free or low fat cheese. Slide the cheese and veggies onto bamboo skewers. Lightly brush a coat of fat free Italian dressing, or flavor of your choice, over the veggie kabobs. Place the kabobs in an oblong dish and store them in your refrigerator.
Make these parfaits with chopped fruits and berries. Use fat free whipped cream for the parfaits. Crush a few walnuts, then place them in a bowl. In large glasses, alternate rows of berries, nuts and whipped cream until you get to top of the glass. Make a few parfaits the night before, then store them in the refrigerator for your kids to have when they get home from school.
