Stopping by today these are some of the eye popping works that capture attention for different reasons. Most of the work is made by artists in their studios in Crystal City and some in their other Arlington area studios.

“Dates: March 3 - 28, 2014
"Illuminations" is a joint exhibit of collage and water media works by Gallery Underground Members Linda Maldonado and Elise Ritter. Linda and Elise began their art careers as traditional transparent watercolorists, but evolved as progressive collage and non-objective abstract artists, using water media, such as acrylic and watercolor, and also collage. Their work complements one another’s, and is often hung next to each other in group shows. The subject matter tends to be symbolist, spiritual and otherworldly in nature, emphasizing color, texture, and form. Both have been influenced by their lives spent moving and traveling in many different regions and cultures: USA: east coast and west coast; Austria; Scandinavia; Turkey; China; Eastern and Western Europe.”
