Three Giant Leaps Series #6: Balance - Pay Attention to Health

One of the most important roles of any person in a career transition is attending to your physical and emotional health. It is necessary to strike a balance between work and personal activities whether you are in work you enjoy, in a job search or planning to leave work that is dissatisfying.

The first step is to closely examine your current health and work/life balance practices and then make adjustments. I know this will not be easy, in fact for most of you, this will probably be the most challenging practice in our series. However, it will not only make you more effective, it may add years to your life and I guarantee it will improve your ability to manage stress and make positive changes in a sustainable way.

Activity#1:

1. Write five things you already doing to make sure you have good physical health and work/life balance?
2. Write down three things you can do to improve this over the coming months.
3. Create a plan in your calendar to accomplish at least one thing from question #2.
