Three bodies found Connecticut: 3 women found shot to death in home

Police say three bodies found in a Connecticut home were all shot to death. Saturday, police confronted an armed man holding a 13-month-old child. Moments later, the suspect released the baby and committed suicide. Manchester Police Department is investigating and believe the triple-murder-suicide was domestic-related, according to a Dec. 9 Courant news report.

Late Saturday, police were dispatched to 190 Pine St. in the Dye House apartments on a "shots fired" call. When officers arrived, they met John Louis Lynn, 41, in the parking lot. After a brief verbal exchange with police, Lynn placed a child down on the pavement and took his own life by firing a single shot with a handgun.

Although an officer fired a single shot at Lynn, it missed. However, since an officer's weapon was discharged, sources are calling it a police shooting.

Police then found the lifeless bodies of three women in an apartment at the location. All were victims of gunfire, presumably by the suspect who had just committed suicide.

One of the deceased was Brittany Mills, 28, (Lynn's on-again, off-again girlfriend, who was the mother of the 13-month-old son). The other two of three bodies were Mills' cousins: Kameisha Mills, 23, and Artara Benson, 46.

Police said the two cousins went to check on the well-being of Brittany, who had not been answering her telephone at the home. They were particularly concerned because Brittany was trying to break off her five year relationship with Lynn for a while. Moreover, she had recently filed for delinquent child support

After the three bodies were found, Connecticut Capt. Christopher Davis said this about the shooting in Manchester:

It should be noted that the officers' quick response to the scene prevented the suspect from being able to flee with the child and likely saved the child's life."

Sources say Lynn and Mills relationship did not involved physical violence. Nonetheless, investigators are searching for a motive. However, at this time, it appears it was domestic related and the two cousins were merely victims of Lynn's rage.

The three bodies found in the Connecticut apartment were killed by apparent gunfire, but autopsies will still be performed according to protocol.
