Publicist, Dove Clark has confirmed that rapper Ricky “Lord Infamous” Dunigan passed away at the age of 40. His body was found at his mother’s house in Memphis, Tennessee on Friday, Dec. 20.

In an interview with HipHopDX, Clark states that the cause of death is currently unknown and that they are still trying to figure out how he died.

Three 6 Mafia member and Lord’s half brother DJ Paul said in a phone interview with The Hollywood Reporter, “He passed away in his sleep from a heart attack.” He goes on to say, “..he said he was tired, he wanted to sleep. He sat down at the kitchen table, put his head in his arms to lay down ... to get some sleep.” Paul is still in shock over his unexpected death.

Founding member of Three 6 Mafia, Juicy J thanked everyone for their prayers and expressed his disbelief over the sudden loss via social media. Lil Wayne tweeted that he was a ‘pioneer’.

Three 6 Mafia started in the mid-90s and received an Academy Award, in 2006, for Best Original Song, “It’s Hard out Here for a Pimp”.
