Over 3,000 people packed the Paramount Theater in Oakland, California to pay homage to Gospel music artist Walter Hawkins. The 4 hour long homegoing service was streamed live courtesy of KTVU for those not able to attend.
The celebration was full of great gospel music performances and touching remembrances of a man whose gospel gospel songs touched the world. Bishop Walter Hawkins was remembered as a humble man who loved unconditionally and encouraged others to do the same. His daughter-in-law, Sunny Hawkins, tearfully said that “he loved without judging”.
