Probably not.
Paul would probably kick our tails if he saw the state that the church and Christians are in today. People claim faith daily but less than half of them really live a life of faith based on a relationship with the living God. It’s just a routine—a “Sunday faith”, if you will. Going to a gathering once a week, saying a prayer and shouting with hands raised, does not equal faith. Want proof?
Any person can do those things at the Titans game. Really. Joe can go to every Titans game; he can pray that they win and shout with his hands up at every touchdown. If Joe does that, he’s got to be a football lover right?
Wrong. Joe can do those things but it doesn’t mean he’s a fan. He may not even understand what’s going on. Maybe Joe is mimicking what he sees around him so he’ll fit in and feel like he’s doing something good. When it’s over, he can go home and talk about it but it hasn’t changed his life or impacted him in any way. Not like it has the people who actually played the game.

The players of the game were committed; they played a hard game and some of them are probably hurt, but they gave their all on that field. If they didn’t then they would affect their teammates, their fans and the outcome of the game. Each game will follow them for the rest of their careers. Faith is like that.
When you take a step of faith, even a small one, it is hard. It hurts. It leaves you broken. That’s why, in areas of faith, you have to be committed to give your all. If you aren’t then you are affecting more than just yourself.
So I ask, what do you think it looks like to live a life a faith?
