After Bachelorette Jillian Harris turned down his proposal, Reid Rosenthal says it just wasn't meant to be.
"If there was something she wanted to talk about with me, she could have gotten in contact with me," he told the media in a recent conference call. "She seemed like she was very happy and, being friendly with Ed, I didn’t think it was my place to ask questions."
Though he's not back on the dating scene yet, Philadelphia realtor Reid says he will be soon. For right now, he's just trying to get back to life as normal and answer all his messages.
"It’s hard to get back to everyone," he says. "I’ve kind of given up on Facebook and I’ve got someone helping me sift through everything and filtering through all my clients to figure out who’s real and who’s not, but people still call my voicemail and leave me really funny messages. One girl left me a funny rap about me and Jillian, then at the end said, 'I can’t believe I just did that, I’m so embarrassed.'"
In the future, Reid says he'll be more apt to share his feelings earlier in relationships. As far as Jillian is concerned, he still strong feelings for her. "But everything happens for a reason and I’ve always thought that way, so that helps me have closure right there."
If he were offered the role of the next Bachelor star, Reid is unsure how he'd respond, but says there's a chance. "I have been thinking about it, and I’m not sure yet," he said. "I never really stepped it up to the next level before in relationships, but I really trust the process. The downside of it is that it’s a ton of work transitioning back and forth, plus you have that Bachelor stigma for the rest of your life. You’re that guy, which I don’t know if I’m ready to do. Thinking about it makes me excited about 65 percent of the time."
