Progress and change is in the air of America, as more and more set down hatred and bigotry in trade for acceptance of all people. A new survey by a Southern Baptist affiliated group finds that those who believe homosexuality is a sin are now in the minority for the first time.
LifeWay Research, a affiliated Christian research group, has found that just 37% of respondents said the word yes when specifically asked if they believed homosexuality was a sin. This is a sharp decline from 44% who answered yes in September 2011.
The group has postulated a theory why the attitude is changing; President Barack Obama. After he reversed his public opinion, and came out in favor of gay marriage legalization, he brought many other American opinions with him.
The report, discussed in the Detroit Free Press, freep.com, was published after 1,191 individuals were polled. There is a pre-reported 2.9% margin of error.
