Senator George Voinovich charged that Southerners are what's wrong with the Republican Party. The article in Sundays P.D. said his meaning was clear enough: Those ignorant, right-wing, Bible-thumping rednecks are ruining the party.
He even said that "We got too many Jim DeMints and Tom Coburns. No Senator, we have to many George Voinovichs in the party. I never hear Seantor Voinovich coming out for good old fashioned American values. Senators DeMint and Coburn let us know where they stand. They are not ashamed of America.
Senator Voinovich is like most of the other politicians in Washington; he's been there too long. He has no clue what most of the average working Americans think. He's never had a real job. He practiced law for a while, but most of his life has him drawing a salary from the tax payers.
I like Senator Voinovich as a person. I was active in the Cleveland Jaycees with his brother Paul, long ago. I even helped him in his campaign for County Auditor, working with his friend Andy Szabo, a former Senator in Hungary before the Russian tanks rolled in.
It is a good thing the Senator is retiring. Hopefully we can get a real American Senator elected. Someone like Frank Lausche and he was a Democrat.
Senator, now that you are retiring, don't go back to law. Start a small business and see what laws you have to live under. Small business is the backbone of America. Small businesses believe in the principles that this country was founded on. They are entrepreneurs. They are hard workers. They are family people and they believe in the Constitution.
If you didn't notice Senator, these are the values these Southern Senators stands for!
