Jayne Mansfield’s Car, a 1960 period drama directed by and starring Billy Bob Thornton, along with Robert Duvall, John Hurt and Kevin Bacon, will have its world premiere at the Berlin International Film Festival.
Thornton will present "Jayne Mansfield's Car" in Competition as a Russian-U.S. co-production. He is contending against Italian directors Paolo and Vittorio Taviani, who weigh in with "Caesar Must Die," and German directors Christian Petzold, re-teaming with actress Nina Hoss on "Barbara," plus Hans-Christian Schmid with "Home for the Weekend."
Portions of "Jayne Mansfield's Car" was filmed in downtown Cedartown and many of the storefronts remain transformed as they will appear in the movie.
Angelina Jolie’s directorial debut, In The Land of Blood and Honey will also get a special, out of competition screening during the film fest.
The Berlin film festival runs February 9-19.
