Arriving in town just ahead of the theatrical release of Thor: The Dark World, a special attraction based on Marvel’s Asgardian superhero will soon be coming to Disney. Beginning Friday, October 31, Disney will be launching the “Thor: Treasures of Asgard” attraction at the Innoventions section of Tomorrowland at Disneyland park.
The attraction will present astrophysicist Jane Foster’s work on her study of the “Bifrost,” the cosmic bridge that allows the God to travel between the Nine Realms, including Earth. Visitors will be able to visit the Bifrost chamber for an audience with Thor himself and view a collection of objects from his homeworld of Asgard (aka, movie props), including Loki’s helmet, weapons and more.
“Thor: Treasures of Asgard” is currently expected to be open through the holiday season.
Marvel’s “Thor: The Dark World” continues the big-screen adventures of Thor, the Mighty Avenger, as he battles to save Earth and all the Nine Realms from a shadowy enemy that predates the universe itself. In the aftermath of Marvel’s “Thor” and “Marvel’s The Avengers,” Thor fights to restore order across the cosmos…but an ancient race led by the vengeful Malekith returns to plunge the universe back into darkness. Faced with an enemy that even Odin and Asgard cannot withstand, Thor must embark on his most perilous and personal journey yet, one that will reunite him with Jane Foster and force him to sacrifice everything to save us all.
Directed by Alan Taylor, Thor: The Dark World stars Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, Tom Hiddleston, Anthony Hopkins, Christopher Eccleston, Stellan Skarsgård, Idris Elba and Rene Russo is will arrive in theaters on November 8th, 2013.
