With the victory, Thompson improved her lead in the World Cup standings to 48 points over Katrin Mueller of Switzerland, who finished in second place behind Thompson Friday. Ophelie David of France finished in third place.
For Thompson, the silver medalist in women's ski cross at the 2013 World Freestyle Skiing Championships in Voss, Norway, it was her second victory on the World Cup stage this season as she previously won at Nakiska on December 7.
Thompson will try and follow in Ashleigh McIvor's footsteps and be the second Canadian in two Olympic Winter Games to win Olympic Gold in women's ski cross.
A Canadian also medalled in the men's ski cross World Cup in Val Thorens, France on Friday as David Duncan of London, Ontario finished third behind winner John Teller of the United States and Victor Oehling Norberg of Sweden.
