Ravenel completed a rehab program in New Mexico and returned to South Carolina where he pled guilty to conspiring to buy and distribute 100 grams of cocaine.” In March 2008 Thomas Ravenel was sentenced to 10 months in federal prison.

Ravenel graduated from The Citadel with a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration and went on to receive his Masters degree from the University of South Carolina. Ravenel’s Masters in business administration focused on finance and real estate. Prior to becoming State Treasurer of South Carolina, Ravenel founded Ravenel Development Corporation and lived briefly in Atlanta.

Thomas Ravenel’s hobbies include polo, boating and traveling. “Southern Charm” premieres at 10 p.m. ET Monday, March 3 on Bravo.
