According to TMZ, Thomas Gibson was charged with a DUI during the early morning hours on Jan. 6, 2013. The “Criminal Minds” star was driving through downtown Los Angeles when he attempted to travel through an area that was blocked off for a marathon. There were no runners in the area, as they had already passed by that section of the race, however it was still not open to public traffic.
Gibson was stopped by people working for the marathon and instructed that he could not go through the area because of the marathon. Gibson did not listen to the instructions and proceeded through the area, as if no one had told him it wasn’t a good idea.
Eventually, the police caught up with Gibson and stated that alcohol could be smelled on his breath. Gibson did not submit to a breathalyzer test at the scene and was arrested and charged with a misdemeanor DUI. Neither Gibson, nor his reps have made any statement regarding the DUI. His bail was set at $15,000 which as of the late afternoon on Jan. 6, 2013, had still not been paid.
