Ricky Thomas made it official on Saturday, announcing on Twitter that he has verbally committed to the Nevada Wolf Pack football team.

Thomas, who will be a senior outside linebacker/ defensive end at Reno's McQueen High this fall, is the first 2015 recruit to commit to the Wolf Pack. Thomas is a 6-foot-2, 210 pound linebacker with good strength (250-pound bench press) and speed (4.7 in 40).

Thomas' commitment was no surprise given that his father Ricky Sr., a foprmer Alabama safety (1983-86), is the Wolf Pack's cornerbacks coach. Ricky Sr. also coached in the NFL with the Indianapolis Colts, whose general manager was Bill Polian, the father of Wolf Pack head coach Brian Polian.
