This year's Super Bowl has a lot of 'firsts': See if you know about them

According to ABC News on Jan. 31, Super Bowl XLVIII has a lot of firsts. Some you might already know about, but some you might not have known.

The Date
For the first time in Super Bowl history, this year it coincides with Ground Hog Day on Feb. 2. Whether Punxsutawney Phil predicts an early spring or not, many people are geared up to endure the cold winter to see the big game Sunday evening.

The Location
This Sunday's Super Bowl will be played at the first-ever cold-weather open era arena. It will be at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey.

This is the first Super Bowl hosted by two states: New Jersey and New York. Some think New Jersey is being shafted, according to USA Today.

While the game between the Denver Broncos and Seattle Seahawks will be played in New Jersey, the event has been unofficially advertised as the New York Super Bowl. Many official game signs have given top billing to the Empire State rather than to the Garden State.

Peyton Manning
If Broncos Peyton Manning wins, he will be the first quarterback to win the Super Bowl as starter for two different teams.

Derrick Coleman
Seahawks fullback Derrick Coleman is the first legally deaf player on an NFL offense. The 23-year-old has been deaf since he was three years old.

Two States
The two states (Colorado and Washington State) playing in the Super Bowl are the first and only states to have legalized marijuana for recreational use.

Singing
This is the first time an opera singer will sing "The Star-Spangled Banner" at the Super Bowl. Renée Fleming is the opera star who's about to tackle something different. She is already a huge star on her own turf, but she will be breaking a barrier at Super Bowl XLVIII.

Breakfast Cereal Commercial|
Of all the commercials at the Super Bowl in previous years, this will be the first time a cereal commercial will be shown. Cheerios' commercial about an interracial family is sure to make a hit with viewers.

If you know any "firsts" that are not included in this article, list them below.
