This weekend, unravel the mystery behind classic Disney villain 'Maleficent'

The backstory behind one of Disney’s most mysterious and scary villains, Maleficent, finally comes to theaters this Friday. If fantasy isn’t your thing, Seth MacFarlane’s western parody “A Million Ways to Die in the West” comes out this weekend as well. Which will you be seeing? Maleficent”: Directed by Robert Stromberg, this movie based on Disney’s animated classic “Sleeping Beauty” traces the origins of that film’s villain, Maleficent (played here by Angelina Jolie). As a young, kind fairy, Maleficent was betrayed protecting her homeland from an invading army. Thirty for revenge, she places a curse on the invading king’s daughter, Aurora (Elle Fanning), only to realize later that Aurora may be the only one who can restore peace to the land. Available for viewing in 3D. Runtime: 97 minutes. Rated PG for sequences of fantasy action and violence, including frightening images.

A Million Ways to Die in the West”: Directed by Seth MacFarlane, this western spoof starts MacFarlane as Albert, a cowardly farmer who must learn to fight the gunslinger husband of the woman he loves (Charlize Theron). Runtime: 116 minutes. Rated R for strong crude and sexual content, language throughout, some violence and drug material.
