Need a reminder that there is more to the world than the ice and snow that is covering Minnesota? Put down that shovel and visit the 2014 Upper Midwest Scuba and Adventure Travel Show this weekend.

The event begins Friday, February 21, at 7pm with “Friday Night at the Movies” where divers have the opportunity to show off their favorite dive photos and videos.

The fun continues Saturday, February 22, with a variety of exhibits from local shops, dive organizations and travel companies. Discover Scuba and Discover Rebreather classes are being offered at the hotel pool for both newbies and the experienced divers. The event will also feature a variety of speakers including underwater photographers and cinematographers, historians, researchers and shipwreck hunters. Event goers can enter a raffle and silent auction for the chance to win dive gear, classes and weekend getaways. All proceeds for the raffle and silent auction will go to the Great Lakes Shipwreck Preservation Society.

The event finishes on Saturday night with an award banquet and opportunity to meet other divers.
