This weekend, summer movie season starts with 'Spider-Man' sequel

The first weekend in May is traditionally the start of the summer blockbuster season, and this year it is beginning with a bang. “The Amazing Spider-Man 2” is in theaters today, and promises new villains and adventures for the Marvel fan favorite. The Amazing Spider-Man 2”: Directed by Marc Webb, this sequel to the updated Marvel franchise starring Andrew Garfield sees the return Peter Parker/Spider-Man as he must battle a new enemy, Electro (Jamie Foxx) while also balancing his personal life, including his relationship with Gwen Stacey (Emma Stone). When his friend Harry Osborn comes back in his life, Peter realizes that all his enemies have connections to Oscorp, a realization that also leads him to discover new things about his father’s mysterious disappearance. Available for viewing in 3D. Runtime: 142 minutes. Rated PG-13 for sequences of sci-fi action/violence.
