This Weekend: Solano County gun buyback program kicks off March 9

Upgrading to a new gun or just want to relinquish the ones you've got?

If you live in Solano County, you may want to head out to Vallejo's Fairgrounds on March 9th. The County is launching its first gun buyback program and the incentives match or beat what other counties across the nation have been recently been offering.

Redeem a handgun, shotgun or rifle (all must be in working condition) and you will receive a gift card of up to $100. Hand over a California-classified assault weapon and your incentive increases. It is worth up to $200 in gift cards.

900 Fairgrounds Drive, Vallejo
38.135046288371 ; -122.22963005304

Police are requesting that you bring your unwanted guns unloaded and stored in the trunk of your car. The County press release mentions that owners can turn the firearms in anonymously

FYI!: Funds are limited for this gun redemption so it's best to arrive as early as possible.

When: March 9, 10 a.m.to 3 p.m.

Where: Solano County Fairgrounds, 900 Fairgrounds Drive, Vallejo
