July 25-Rise and shine early Xi Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Incorporated is raising funds for the Kleo Family Life Center named in honor of Sheriff Deputy Kleo Barrett who's life was taken in 2007 in a domestic violence act by a former boyfriend. This 7k Alpha Walk is to combat domestic violence, discuss solutions and provide options to the community it serves. Join the group at Kleo Family Life Center 8236 S. Western Avenue, Chicago, Illinois, 773-492-1906. Registration begins at 7:15 a.m. and walk begins at 8:00 a.m.

Michigan Ave, Chicago, Illinois 4pm-7pm. Get a little rest shower up and enjoy Friday nights July 25- October 11 for Fun Fridays Night at Tradition Gastro and Pub. Shake what your Momma gave you with award winning DJ Boolu Master and DJ Ron Troupe. House music just ain't House music without DJ Boolu Master spinning the tunes. Saturday bring your grill to the woods of Westchester, Illinois for a Singles outing hosted by the Single's Ministry of Living Word Christian Center. Stir up the fun with softball, volley ball and free burgers or hot dogs while supplies last. You can bring additional games to share and bring food for your grill. Saturday July 26 Pastor John Hannah of New Life Covenant Church SE is seeking volunteers for the 'Hot Dog' give-a-way. This is a great opportunity for students to earn volunteer service hours. A total of 2500 free hot dogs and water will be given to patrons along 79th street stretching from Wabash ave to Cottage Grove ave 12 pm to 2 pm. Volunteers must meet at the church at 11:15am, 1021 East 78th Street, Chicago, Illinois 60619 for block assignments. Another location for the give-a-ways is on the west side of Chicago, the corner of Roosevelt and Homan avenue. Call for details 773-285-1731. Pastor Hannah's Hot Dog give-a-way is a regular event for the last five plus years.

DeNishia Yearby spokesperson for the event said the purpose is to engage with the community. Anyone can have a free hot dog and water. For New Life Covenant Church its more about building relationships through love, understanding and being available to help when needed. That being said the church as of July 17, 2014 began a food pantry in which households in need of food can come get groceries once monthly at 7757 South Greenwood, Chicago, Illinois, 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.. The church also provides other services you can contact the church for any additional help or for prayer. Side note Pastor Hannah will be doing a back to school event in August for local community, contact church for details.

Pastor Choco of a different New Life Covenant Church on the north west side of Chicago is hosting a Hope Fest Chicago 2014 giving away backpacks, food and student exams for Chicago public school students at 3400 West Division, Chicago, Illinois.

J'Nice is taking the groove to the southern burbs in Dolton Illinois for Fresh Heirs Mix Tape Release Party at the Redemption Room next door to New Life Celebration Church of God 14243 Dante Ave, Dolton, Illinois 60419, the jumping starts at 6:00 p.m. Or get some real House Genre music at the big House Party in Grant Park, 601 S. Michigan ave Chicago, Illinois with DJ Gene Hunt and DJ Alan King from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Slow down and speed up by closing out the month of July Sunday the 27th with Meg DeDeolph Contra and Square dance instructor of the Chicago Barn Dance Company at the 18th annual Summer Dance in Grant Park, 601 S.
